Think of hiring a college counselor as a small part of the larger investment you are planning to make in your child’s education. School counselors do a great job, but they do not have time to create a personalized plan for your child or to coach your child through every step of the process.
I cannot guarantee admission to any specific college—nobody can. What I can promise is that I will help your child put their best foot forward so the applications they submit are clear, cohesive represenations of who they are as people and what they will bring to their college communities.
There is no secret for gaining acceptance to a specific school. I will help your child reflect on who they are and what they are interested in, recommending ways to deepen those interests. Anything I suggest will be based on your child’s preferences and personal growth. Pursuing interests and then reflecting on those pursuits in the college application is the best way to develop as a person and, in turn, the best way to impress colleges.
The key to making an impression is creating a clear, cohesive application with a consistent theme. Through our sessions together, I will get to know your child and will help them showcase their strengths to maximize impact.
It is never too early to plan for college. I will help your child assess their goals and map out a plan to achieve them. As early as middle school, we can discuss your child’s course selections, extracurricular activities, and summer plans, ensuring their choices will bolster their resumes AND enrich them as people.
